Coopersburg PA Real Estate – Homes for Sale in Coopersburg PA

South of Center Valley and approximately eight miles from Allentown, the borough of Coopersburg boasts a serene suburban setting with easy access to Lehigh Valley’s major cities.

Family-run establishments thrive along its streets, as do local restaurants and retail shops.

The communities of Milford Square, Hellertown, Emmaus, and Fountain Hill are close by.

Coopersburg, which is home to around 2,200 people, is part of the Allentown-Bethlehem-Easton metropolitan area. It covers an area of less than a square mile, and is served by the Southern Lehigh School District.

In the early 18th century, Mennonites from Holland, led by a man named George Bachman, settled in the area and built the community we know today.

Coopersburg only came by its present name in the 1830s. It was originally called Freyburg after the local tavern owner and judge Joseph Frey. It was officially renamed after Peter Cooper, whose estate ran cattle sales in the area.

The Coopersburg Historical Society houses town artifacts on the second floor of Borough Hall. The group also organizes the annual Coopersburg Community Day, featuring arts and crafts, a flea market, demonstrations, entertainment, and food and drink.
